Orient in Edwardsville

This is a nice quiet little place with a mom and pop feel to it. It's neat and clean. Service is prompt, polite, and quick. The food is very tasty. The prices are fair. The menu has a very good number of choices. Excellent for couples or small families. Nice place to go for lunch or dinner with friends if you like a relaxed and comfortable experience.

If you’re from Chicago, this is the best Chinese food in the Edwardsville area hands down. Main thing is this one lady has a bad attitude. She be trying to be stingy with the sauce (she’ll give you 2/2).

Best fried rice ANYWHERE!

ALERT: MENU PRICE NOT SAME AS ACTUAL PRICE. I wish I had seen this when I originally ordered. Took 2 hours to get my food when I was quoted 1 hour. The 1 hour was a ridiculous time frame in the first place. Food was COLD when it got here, Not even a little warm. Also, it's very difficult to order when no one can speak full English well. Only reason they didn't get 1 star is their lunch menu. Great price, but do pick ups only, no delivery.

The restaurant is tasty, but overpriced for the amount of food they give and quality. Also, they charged $.50 cent extra for fried rice. There is no veggies or pork in it. All they do is add soy sauce to the Steam white rice. I could of done that myself!!! They used to be okay, but they have cut back on portions, giving you less for more money.

Best Crab Rangoon’s in the area and their iced tea is perfect tastes freshly brewed. The staff is really nice, clean and pretty restaurant and the prices are reasonable for the area.

I've been going here for probably 10 years. Get the sesame chicken, you WILL NOT be disappointed. Also recommend their pot stickers, general tso's, orange chicken, fried rice, and crab rangoon! Super nice people, great food.

Decent, generic Chinese food. The hot braised boneless chicken and crab rangoon were good. Not crazy about the fried rice or hot and sour soup.

Got charged $1.00 each per vegetable for snow peas, mushroom, and broccoli. There was 3 tiny green onions. I waived the bamboo shoots and water chestnuts but nothing for that. Order supposed to come with white rice. Didn't get it. I called and all i got was "I am sorry". I love the food, but will not be ordering from them anymore. This happens far too much. Other places don't charge extra.

Just got delivery,AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL. Hot and sour soup has the flavor of warm dishwater. No vegetables were harmed making the fried rice. The whole experience was like getting a handshake from a cold bucket of spit.

The Orient is, hands down, my fsvoeite Chinese food restaurant of all time. All of their food is delicous, especially their handmade crab rangoons.They bever mess up orders and their delivery is always prompt. Also, the interior location is very cozy and warm. I have nothing bad to say about The Orient!

I really like their chicken fried rice. I got crab ragoons this time!!! Delicious. So friendly, seem to remember people and place is really clean.

Terrible they dont deliver 6 miles away in Edwardsville address and I found that China king does deliver here and they are almost 9 miles away and they were rude and not willing to talk i would not recommend this place to my worst enemy

Pretty typical Chinese restaurant. Lunch specials are pretty affordable. Food was what you would expect of a small Chinese restaurant.

Food and service was excellent. I had sweet and sour chicken, fried rice and crab rangoon. Of course that is what I usually get. Only down fall is the size of the eating area. Great place to eat, no large parties please. My wife had vegetable fried rice. That was also very good.

Love the food here. The portion sizes are huge and there are so many options. The menu is very easy to understand and spicy options are labeled for convenience. There are so much different fried rice varieties for every palate! The crab rangoon and egg roll are both standouts, along with the beef skewers! It’s small on the inside, but this has never been an issue when we eat in! It’s also easy to order for pick up or delivery.

Very good food. Best crab Rangoon I have had in a long time. Be patient if calling for delivery. Lots of good food. Thee dinners will last for at least 2 or three left over meals. Very good reheated.

I won't eat any other Chinese, I will drive to Edwardsville to get their food. Crab rangoon is to die for.

Great Food! Flavorful dishes, priced just right!

Ordered here for the first time today. Had a bad experience with another Chinese restaurant in Edwardsville. I won’t need to keep trying, this place was great. I especially liked the General Tso’s chicken. At first I thought it was expensive for what I ordered, but after eating had enough food for more than 1 meal, maybe more than 2!

The Orient is a bit of a guilty pleasure. I love their hot braised (fried) pork, their lack of brown rice, and crab rangoon. Is there better Chinese food? Of course. Is there more satisfying Chinese food locally that's a better value? No chance.

First time at the orient in edwardsville IL. Ordered a half of orange chicken and white fried rice and an eggroll. The food was SO good. So tasty! And the workers are very nice! 10/10 Love this place!!
